Chocolate Chip Cookies




2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
¾ tsp. baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup (2 sticks) butter or margarine softened
¾ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup brown sugar, packed firmly
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups (12-oz package) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
1 cup chopped pecans (optional

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375° F.

In a bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, and salt.  Set aside.

In a separate bowl, mix butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract and eggs, blending very well after each addition, until all is smooth and creamy.   Stir in the chocolate chips and pecans.  Add flour, salt, and baking powder mixture and blend very well. 

Drop cookie dough mixture onto an *ungreased* cookie sheet, by rounded teaspoon full. 

Bake 9-12 minutes, or until golden-brown.  Cook on baking sheet for 2 minutes.  Move to wire racks to cool completely.
