Simple Flour Tortillas

Most flour Tortillas are very simple, as its not a complicated bread.  It is thin and unleavened.  But delicious when home made, and versatile for many other recipes that call for them.  I got this recipe from an online friend of mine who goes by the name "Obsidian".  I added 1/8 tsp salt to the recipe just for my personal taste, but you can include or omit it.

Simple Flour Tortillas

Ingredients:
1 cup flour
1/2 cup water
1/8 tsp salt
1tsp oil

Directions:

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, water and oil.  Knead to form a dough.

Cut the dough into sections (you should get 4).  Roll them flat with lots of flour to dust, then put them one at a time in a dry frying pan, flipping them over once they start to go brown in several spots.  The tortillas may or may not puff up.

Once cooked, put them on a plate and lightly brush them with melted butter.

When you stack them on a plate the sweating they do also helps to keep them soft, and you can put aluminum foil over them and pop them in the oven as low as it will go to keep them warm if you are making a larger batch.
